At Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples, free entry to the Terrace to observe the longest eclipse of the Moon through a telescope!

Another interesting event, The Moon in the Castle, was organized in Naples to observe theethe longest moonline of the century there will be the 27 July 2018 and you can participate in the Castel Sant'Elmo. It is a free event which provides that everyone will have free access to the Weapons Terrace of the Castle and admire the astronomical phenomenon.

The evening is organized by the Municipality of Naples in collaboration with theNeapolitan Amateur Astronomers Union who will make their own telescopes available to allow participants to make observations of the sky during the eclipse. In addition to observing the phenomenon that affects the Moon, it will be possible observe also Mars which, on this particular occasion, is in opposition to the minimum distance from the Sun, so it will also be much easier to admire it.

The amateur astronomers will also give explanations on the phases of the eclipse and they will answer the questions and the curiosity of everyone. Recall that this eclipse will last 1 now and 43 minutes and la maximum phase there will be around the 22.20, while the exit from the shadows will be at 23.14.

Surely the evening at Castel Sant'Elmo will be one of the most evocative because it is about one of the best panoramic places in Naples, just a few steps from Largo San Martino, generally frequented by those who want to spend a romantic evening.
