Erica, the first episode tonight on Channel 5

This evening, Wednesday, September 2nd, Erica – Una detective per caso , the new Mediaset drama starring Vanessa Incontrada , debuts in prime time on Canale 5. The series kicks off the network's 2026/2027 season with a story that combines mystery, feelings, and family dynamics.

The plot

Vanessa Incontrada plays Erica Magliani , a crime novelist experiencing a creative and personal crisis who decides to return to Piombino , the Tuscan town where she grew up. Her return means reopening old wounds and confronting her sister Lucia , played by Ivana Lotito , as well as issues related to her parents' inheritance.

When someone from her past is implicated in a serious incident, Erica notices contradictions she can't ignore. Although she's not a detective, she begins to observe everything through the eyes of a crime novelist, studying behavior and searching for possible motives. Officially investigating is Commissioner Leonardo Carrese , played by Francesco Scianna . Their relationship develops amidst mistrust and conflict, but as the story progresses, it gives way to an increasingly strong attraction.

Erica – Una detective per caso is the Italian adaptation of the French series Erica, based on the novels by Swedish writer Camilla Läckberg . The series consists of three episodes (six): the first airs tonight at around 9:20 pm, the second on Wednesday, September 9th, and the third on Wednesday, September 16th. The episodes will also be available for streaming on Mediaset Infinity.
