The second weekend of September brings Salerno and its province to life: the great food and wine event in Piazza della Libertà, the closing of the jazz festival in Amalfi, the slow festival in Acciaroli with Levante and Margherita Vicario, the grand finale in Agerola, and a dense network of festivals across Cilento and the Amalfi Coast. Friday September 11st

Food & Surroundings 2026 in Liberty Square

The fifteenth edition of Cibo & Dintorni is underway , the three-day food and wine event that will transform Salerno 's seaside square into a vast food and wine trail. Two pavilions will be set up in front of the Crescent , featuring over one hundred companies from Campania and other regions, B2B meetings, and a packed schedule of events in the Sala Agorà and the Sala del Gusto.

The opening day begins at 11:30 a.m. with Marisa Laurito , who will present her book on the history of Mimì alla Ferrovia , a historic Neapolitan restaurant institution, along with Salvatore Giugliano and Vincenzo De Luca , moderated by journalist Alfonso Sarno . In the afternoon, at 17:00 p.m., there will be a masterclass on Franciacorta curated by FISAR Salerno with the Ferghettina winery, followed by the presentation of Nello Gatti's book Winewashing.

Gegè Telesforo closes Amalfi in Jazz

Last evening for Amalfi in Jazz , the festival that closes the city's summer season: Gegè Telesforo arrives in Piazza Duomo with Jazz Radio , the musical talk show that becomes a real radio set with improvisations, guests and great swing.

ViviamoCilento: Opening Concert with Fabrizio Bosso

The ViviamoCilento 2026 slow festival opens in Acciaroli , a hamlet of Pollica , this year dedicated to the theme "Love Moves Us." The opening concert features jazz by Fabrizio Bosso and Julian Oliver Mazzariello , combining music, lyrics, nature, and the flavors of Cilento.

Let's Live Cilento: Levante, Ditonellapiaga, and Stefano Fresi

Saturday at ViviamoCilento is the heart of the festival: the Acciaroli stage features Stefano Fresi 's show "On Love, War, and the Last," Edoardo Prati's "Words and the Sea," music by Ditonellapiaga , and a live performance by Levante . The program also includes Cibocilento tastings, children's workshops, and excursions.

"I'll Tell You Four" with Pino Strabioli in Paestum

For the fourteenth edition of “…dal Mito a +∞” the show by and with Pino Strabioli will be staged at Villa Salati in Paestum : a story that intertwines irony, memory and great theatrical narration.

On the Paths of the Gods: Grand finale in Agerola

The last events of the Upper Amalfi Coast festival , which closes its fifteenth edition with over sixty free events including concerts, theater and shows in the natural stages of Agerola , between the Colonia Montana Park, the Punta Corona Belvedere and the squares of the area.

18th Strapollese Pick Up in Polla

A grand finale in Acciaroli for ViviamoCilento 2026 : Margherita Vicario 's sound stories and Raiz 's concert with the Solis String Quartet , in homage to Pino Daniele , close three days of music, words and gastronomy on the Cilento sea.

Food & Surroundings: The Last Day

The final day of the Salerno event is dedicated to leavening and international influences. At 10:30 a.m., Carlo Di Cristo will discuss sourdough management; at 13:00 p.m., chef Riccardo Cannizzaro will lead a masterclass on Nikkei cuisine; at 15:00 p.m., Alfonso Sarno will present his book "Nuove Notes on Salerno Cuisine" ; and at 17:00 p.m., a masterclass on Barolo , curated by FISAR Salerno.

Velia Theatre Festival in Castelnuovo Cilento

The twenty-ninth edition of the Velia Teatro Festival , the festival held between the Velia Archaeological Park and the villages of Cilento, continues. Until September 17th, the evenings will move to Castelnuovo Cilento , including shows, readings, and meetings.

Grape and Wine Festival in Filetta

In the Filetta hamlet of San Cipriano Picentino, the grape harvest becomes a celebration: four evenings spread across the Wine Experience with fourteen wineries, chefs' dishes, the famous Fusillo Brillo , live music, a DJ set at LUVA Park, traveling shows and a children's area.

Hazelnut Festival in Giffoni Valle Piana

At Aia della Baronessa , in the Vassi hamlet, the third edition of the festival dedicated to the Tonda di Giffoni IGP returns : the protagonist among pizzas, first courses, ice creams, zeppole and cupeta, with a children's area, entertainment and shuttle service.

Celebration in the Gethsemane Grove in Capaccio-Paestum

In the greenery of the Sanctuary of Gethsemane in Capaccio-Paestum , the evenings of the woodland festival return: stalls open from 20:00 PM and shows from 21:00 PM, with entertainment, family activities, a children's area, ponies, and horses. The final lottery drawing will take place on Sunday the 13th at 23:30 PM.

Scazzatiello Castellese in Castel San Lorenzo

The Cilento village of Castel San Lorenzo celebrates Scazzatiello , its signature fresh pasta, served with mutton ragù, marzafegato, and curieddu (a type of sausage made with ham and mushrooms), or with sausage and porcini mushrooms. Four evenings of show cooking, a pizzica dance workshop, folk music, and a play area.

Frecagnola Fair in Cannalonga

An event whose origins date back to 1452 and are linked to transhumance: in Cannalonga, goat meat is the protagonist of five days of craft markets, musical performances, cultural events, and historical reenactments in the streets of the Cilento village.
