An exhibition on Chagall with more than 100 works and some of its most iconic paintings will be held at Villa Fiorentino in Sorrento.
From the 15 July to the 15 November 2017 there will be one exhibition of works by Marc Chagall a Sorrento. The exhibition will take place in the setting of Villa Fiorentino which will propose in its ten rooms more than 100 works of the French national Belarusian artist.
The visitor will be able to access one extraordinary collection of pictorial and graphic works, carefully selected in order to illustrate in an articulated path, the complexity, the vastness, and the multiplicity of themes addressed by one of the greatest artists of the last century, who has important influences in the popular life of European Russia and in Jewish culture.
The works in all will be 120 among which will stand out 20 absolute masterpieces made with various techniques, and three cycles of lithographs and etchings. Three iconic paintings of the painter representing different phases of his work will be exhibited: La cruche aux fleurs, Russian village, Le Coq Violet and L'homme rouge à la casquette.
