From the collaboration between the Royal Palace of Naples e the Real Bosco di Capodimonte a beautiful exhibition is born which aims to connect the works of art of the two museums, both belonging to the Bourbon eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The exhibition can be visited at Palazzo Reale from 16 March to 9 May 2023.

At the center of the evocative exhibition there will be a very special work, namely the Flagellation of Caravaggio, a work that as we well know does not belong to the royal collections but a work that changed the course of seventeenth-century art, with particular reference to Neapolitan painting.

The themes of Dialogues around Caravaggio

Dialogues around Caravaggio this is the title of the exhibition which sees the union of the Royal Palace of Naples and the Capodimonte Museum and which revolves around two fundamental themes.

Indeed, on the one hand all the paintings by are brought together for the first time Caravaggio, purchased in 1802 in Rome by Domenico Venuti for Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, on the other hand the theme of the Flagellation and the Ecce Homo are compared, through all the interpretations of the various artists between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries.

In short, an exhibition worth visiting, don't miss your appointment!
