In Città della Scienza in Naples the online inauguration of the new Extreme Tour route: the new exhibition will lead you to the discovery of extremophiles!
Wednesday 30 December 2020 at 11: 00 the new path will be inaugurated in Città della Scienza Extreme Tours, from the Greeks to the glories of the Grand Tour in search of life on MartAnd. It will be an incredible exhibition that will allow you to take a wonderful journey, between art and science.
The event will take place completely online and will see the participation of the President of the IDIS-City of Science Foundation Prof. Riccardo Villari, the Councilor for Administrative Simplification and Tourism of the Campania Region Felice Casucci and many others.
Extreme Tour: From the Greeks, to the glories of the Grand Tour in search of life on Mars
The leitmotif of the whole exhibition will be extremophiles, these are newly discovered microorganisms that have the ability to survive and proliferate in really extreme environmental conditions, as the name suggests.
The adventure will start from Campi Flegrei, the place where the research on these microorganisms carried out by the CNR and theUniversity of Naples Federico II. You will then know all the features of these organisms, the places where they live and the richness of the territories that host them.
The public, directly from their own home, will be able to wear the scientist's clothes in person thanks to a physical / virtual and immersive ecosystem of extreme environments: Campi Flegrei, Antarctica and Yellowstone Park.
