The 2026 Ucciolo Festival in Castelvetere sul Calore: the program for the 16th edition

From Friday 3 to Sunday 5 July 2026 The Festa de lo Ucciolo returns to Castelvetere sul Calore, in the province of Avellino: three days dedicated to one of the symbolic products of the Irpinia gastronomic tradition.

The sixteenth edition of the event will liven up Monument Square With wood-fired ovens in the square, live music, and food stands. Ucciolo, a stuffed pastry typical of local peasant cuisine, will be the star of the show in all its variations.

Program of the 2026 Ucciolo Festival

For three days, the Irpinia village pays homage to the Ucciolo, an authentic expression of local rural culture. Made from simple ingredients—flour, water, salt, and sourdough—and enriched with traditional cured meats and local vegetables, the Ucciolo will be served in wood-fired ovens set up in the town square.

The program also includes a 9,9-kilometer foot race between Castelvetere sul Calore and Montemarano, with a meeting in the afternoon and a start at 18:30 PM. At the end of the race, all participants will enjoy the traditional convivial moment with the Ucciolo.

There will be plenty of musical performances and entertainment for all ages, as the village comes alive with the scents and flavors typical of Irpinia's traditions.
