Wild Strawberry Festival 2025 in Salerno. Sweets, Trekking and Tradition

Two days dedicated to local flavours and the uncontaminated nature: come back the Wild Strawberry Festival a Petina, in the province of Salerno. Saturday 21 is Sunday 22 June 2025, the mountain village at the foot of the Sapwood hosts the 53 edition of one of the longest-running and most identifying festivals in Campania. At the heart of the festival is the wild strawberry, grown in a unique habitat and celebrated with dishes, jams, liqueurs and sweets. The event also includes guided tours, markets and folk music.

Who organizes the festival?

The festival is promoted by the local community of Petina, with the support of local associations involved in the enhancement of typical products and environmental heritage. Each edition is designed to raise awareness of the country's identity, linked to the wild strawberry and the rural mountain lifeThe organization focuses on a complete offer made of hospitality, gastronomic culture and immersion in the natural landscape of the Cilento National Park.

What do you eat at the festival

The undisputed protagonist is the wild strawberry, offered in all its variations. The food stands will offer:

• Homemade strawberry jams
• Wild strawberry liqueurs
• Typical local sweets with strawberries and cream
• Wood-fired bread
• Alburni cold cuts and cheeses
• Cilento extra virgin olive oil
• Traditional local dishes

The goal is to tell, through food, the biodiversity of the territory and the quality of zero-mile crops.

Other activities of the festival

The festival is not just about gastronomy: the program includes trekking in the woods, guided tours, craft markets, activities for children and lots of live folk music.

Saturday we start from 18.00 with concerts until late at night. A red themed dress code (“Red Vibes Only”). The grand finale on Sunday with the live de The well of San Patrizio 19.30, a reference band of the Campania folk scene. The activities are designed to offer a complete experience between local culture, entertainment and contact with nature.

The festival takes place in the centre of Petina (SA), easily reachable by car via the A2 Mediterranean motorway.
