Feast of Sant'Antonio Abate in Agerola, between tradition, bonfires and local flavors
Ad agerola, in the Pianillo hamlet, the ancient tradition of the Feast of Saint Anthony Abbot, one of the most anticipated events of the community. The event, which will be held Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January 2025, celebrates the Patron Saint with a rich program of religious and civil events. The protagonists will be the traditional bonfires, which illuminate the winter evenings, and the local gastronomic delights, masterfully prepared for the occasion. The program
Saturday January 11 2025
The first day of the festival begins with moments of reflection and celebration:
- 18 hours: 00: Polyphonic concert “Pilgrims of Hope” by the “Gli Incanto” choir.
- 20 hours: 00: Preparation of the bonfire of Sant'Antonio in the square. Guests will be able to taste the flavors of His Majesty the Pig, accompanied by popular songs.
Evening menu:
- The belly of salad (ventricina salad);
- Pasta i zit allardiata (with lard);
- Strong soup;
- Traditional dessert;
- Local wine.
Sunday January 12 2025
The second day is dedicated to the traditional bonfire and folk music:
- 19 hours: 00: “Bonfire of Sant'Antonio” in the square and raising of the Child, accompanied by the sound of the bagpipes of the “Symphonia” group from Minori.
- To follow: Show of Traditions in Celebration, with the performance of folk groups:
- Folk group “O Marenariello” from Maiori;
- Pogerola folk group;
- Lone Folk Group.
Evening menu
- Ragù all'Agerolese;
- Cuzzitiell with rind and beggar (bread stuffed with pork rind and local sausage);
- Traditional dessert;
- Local wine.
