Celtic culture

The Celts are one of the most mysterious peoples of history, often associated with alchemy and magic. The halo of mystery that covers them, is probably due to the almost total absence of written documents related to their culture because, according to their traditions, knowledge had to be handed down only by the Druids orally and should not be reported in any form written.

Within the festival stands await you where you can experience the mystery of the Celts first hand, including legends, fairy tales, music, dances and flea markets. There will also be reconstructions of some true symbols of Celtic culture including the Celtic Cross or the Stonehenge complex.

Celtic Rites

Celtic culture it included a whole series of rituals, which were positioned halfway between reality and magic. At the Celtic Festival you can attend these particular rituals with dances, performances, formulas and typical costumes.

Divination has been the basis of Celtic culture: the mysterious Druids foresaw the future and interpreted the omens through a series of divinatory arts including the reading of the runes, the study of the flight of birds or the analysis of the viscera of the sacrificial victims.

In the spaces dedicated to the event, areas have been set up in which you will find fortune tellers, runes readers and other "mystical" figures that will make you approach this culture full of charm. Furthermore, couples who wish to do so can perform the ritual of the Celtic Marriage to celebrate their union.

Celtic village

In the middle of the Celtic Festival an area has been set up with a real Celtic village with curtains and wooden structures, populated by characters in typical costume, intent to carry out actions of daily life including the preparation of food or typical drinks such as mead or hippocrass.

Continuing with exploration you will find archers, swordsmen and weapons maintainers that will show scenes of preparation for battles.

School of Arms

The Celtic Festival he could not not have an area dedicated to weapons and combat, a real art that was indissolubly part of the culture of ancient peoples.

It will be possible visit a real military camp with lots of soldiers ready to explain the various stages of preparation for the clashes, until you get to the real battle. You can also see and in action of the simulations of fighting with swords, shields and halberds.

Celtic Marriage

Within the Festival, there will be a moment dedicated to couples, That of the Celtic Marriage. This type of ritual celebrates the union between two people with a trial period that lasts one year and one day: at the end of this period it will be possible to make the bond final or dissolve it.

This union is made even stronger by the link of the elements: earth, fire, air and earth. Couples who desire it can take part in this ritual, feeling part of that fascinating culture typical of the Celtic people.
