The Far West arrives at the Mostra d'Oltremare of Naples between cowboys, horses, food and wine, shows and games!
From the 30 June to the 2 July and from the 7 to the 9 July, At the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples, on the occasion of the Festival Naples Meet the World Will be held the Country Festival. This is an event dedicated to the fabulous world of the West and the cowboys that will make you relive those typical atmospheres of the nineteenth century.
The entire event will be organized under the banner of gastronomy, entertainment and good music, with international bands, wonderful choreography, dance lessons and many other fun activities. During the festival it will be possible to see examples of everyday life of the so-called "far west", with Indian fields set up with tents and caravans.
For the duration of the event it will be possible to visit the food stands with typical products of the country kitchen, as well as the exhibitions of artisans who will sell their iron and leather products, in pure western style.
Events of the Country Festival
Food & wine
The typical Country culinary style, is outlined by strong and often spicy tastes, combined with a simplicity of the ingredients used. Sauces and meat are the basis of the Country kitchen: it is possible to find, in the various recipes, boiled meat, stewed or grilled.
The Country restaurant inside the event includes a menu dedicated to typical gastronomy and a menu dedicated to the Paninoteca service. In addition to a series of dizzying sandwiches, it will be possible to explore the tastes of Macaroni Cheese, Chiltelle or potato soup, or steaks, stews and barbecues. There will be no lack of side dishes, desserts, drinks and various types of beers to complete the menu.
Pioneers and Westerns
During the event, it will be possible live in person the fragments of everyday life of the Native Americans, being able to observe with their own eyes one real diligence ready to leave for a long journey; the wagons used by the pioneers; scenes of duels with reconstruction of firearms between gunslingers, rangers and outlaws; spectacular performances with lasso and whip and, finally, one wonderful show of Indians and cowboy, which will show the differences in the culture of two peoples who have made the history of America as we know it now.
American Horse
La horse figure, has always been one of the most important side by side with the man. In the Country Festival, as it should be, you could not avoid reserving an area for this wonderful creature, which is one of the main symbols of the west and the cowboys. This will be possible admire live the beauty of some specimens of important breeds of American horses.
I will be visible Quarter Horse, considered among the fastest horses in the shots on the quarter-mile; the American Paint Horse, spotted horses and very beautiful to see; the famous Appaloosa, saddle and light shooting horses, widely used in the countryside and as walking horses; the Morgan Horsand, exceptional carriage and trotting horses, with excellent reproductive capabilities and, finally, i Mustang, horses almost on the verge of extinction and protected by numerous bodies and associations.

During the event you can visit the stand of blacksmith artisans that will show how to beat the iron still hot and make beautiful horseshoes; wander among the markets of leather and wood artisans and, finally, watch bronze and gold work.
Toys
Both for the little ones and for the older ones, there will be games and group activities: you can play with the launch of the horseshoe, challenge yourself in the race with the barrel or even try your hand at the lasso, to feel like real cowboys!

During all the days of the event, you can attend a whole series of activities and shows, which will be repeated throughout the day. Let's see the events in detail:
Country Line Dance
A very special dance in typical country style to dance either alone or in a group. You can wear cowboy hats and boots with spurs and engage in this lively and fun dance. If you do not know the steps, do not despair because you can follow free internships to learn how to get wild.
Dj set Country
Thanks to a special DJ set, you can dance to the notes of the songs of the most famous country artists, from Patsy Cline to Johnny Cash, from Brad Paisley to Kenny Rogers to John Denver. There will also be a choreographer who will teach you the basic steps to allow you to dance to perfection.
Roping - Launch of the Lazo
The launch of the lasso was used by cowboys to capture livestock and, during the Country Festival, you can watch the performances of real cowboys that will bring a truly engaging show to the stage.
Whipcracking Shows - Whip Art
Whipcracking was used by cowboys to guide the horse so that it corrected faster. Even in this case, there will be real cowboys who will engage in dynamic performances and full of energy.
Launch knives and axes
With the guidance of a team of experts and in an atmosphere of perfect safety you can try the discipline of throwing knives and axes. Skill and dexterity are required, as well as a lot of courage, but with the help of the staff present you will succeed in the enterprise!
Country and live concert
A trio of artists coming directly from the USA will offer country music with covers of songs by musicians such as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Alabama and many others.
Exhibitions on the mechanical bull
Have you always dreamed of being able to beat a mechanical bull? At the Country Festival you can challenge yourself in this very tempting challenge and try to overcome the famous 8 seconds on the saddle. There will also be performances by expert bull riders who will show off all their talent at top speed.
Duel between cowboys
You will be able to relive the atmosphere of traditional western films thanks to the duels that will be staged by the cowboys of the Festival who will immerse themselves in challenges to the death!
Western Saloon
An inevitable element of any self-respecting western, at the Country Festival there will be the Saloon populated by cowboys, miners, gold diggers, bounty hunters and outlaws intent on guzzling whiskey.
