Il Casatiello, king of Campania gastronomy, protagonist of an intense festival in Sant'Arpino.
From 14 to 16 June 2019 returns to the Sagra Del Casatiello to Sant'Arpino. Cuisine, craftsmanship and folklore are the protagonists of this tasty event dedicated to the delicious sweet / savory cake protagonist of the Campania gastronomy.
At the center of the festival this rustic product from Campania, prepared with cheese, lard, cracklings and other cured meats.
Within the festival there will also be a competition between the housewives of the town, sponsored by renowned Italian pasta makers: they will compete for a prize at the Best Casatiello of the year.
The program is rich.
Lots of musical performances. There will be for example the "Diego Perris Swing Orchestra", the "Vagaband", the group "Rareca Antica"; the comedians of "Made in Sud" Peppe Laurato and Rosalia Miele, and then Umberto Del Prete, a great imitator of Totò; also worth mentioning is the painting exhibition "Mediterranean Atmospheres" by the master Alfredo Cordova; and then a conference with the presentation of the book "Street Food" by Giuseppe Bagno, which deals with Campania street food, which obviously has among its protagonists the Casatiello;
The association "Scusate il Ritardo" collaborates; guided tours of the Palazzo Ducale, the church of Sant'Elpidio and the Romitorio di San Canione.
