Wednesday September 19 2018 returns the Feast of San Gennaro a Napoli, the day in which the Patron of the city is celebrated and in which the miracle of the dissolution of the blood. It is one of the three days of the year in which this phenomenon occurs, but September 19th is always the most important. The first liquefaction took place in 1389 and since then it has always been considered a fundamental event for many people.

On the occasion of the holiday, the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro It offers a admission ticket at the reduced price of 5 euro, instead of the full price at 10 euro, e guided tours included in the cost. Celebrations in the Duomo
September 18th
- At 16.30 pm: we start from near the Church of the Sacramentine in Via Duomo with Solemn Rites and then proceed to Piazza Filangieri for the homage to the Fallen and to the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, in via Duomo at the corner of Forcella, to reach the Cathedral.
- At 18.00 will take place the Vigilance Rite of the Celebration of First Vespers. After the Vespers, after the veneration of the relics of the Holy Martyr Gennaro in the Crypt, three torchbearers will carry out the lighting of the votive lamp in the churchyard of the Cathedral.
19 September - Solemnity of San Gennaro
- 8.00 Hours: Mass in the Duomo
- 9.45 am: opening of the safe in the Chapel of the Saint by Cardinal Sepe. Procession of the Bust and the ampoule with blood on the High Altar where it is hoped that the miracle will take place.
- From 16.00 to 18.30: veneration of the ampoules by the faithful.
- Hours: 18.30: Eucharistic Celebration presided over by an Auxiliary Bishop of Naples.
