Film about Troisi, Mario Martone tells our Massimo in a documentary

Mario Martone, Neapolitan film director and screenwriter, is working on a really beautiful project that will include the realization of the documentary dedicated to the life and film career of the great Massimo Troisi.

The documentary, made together with Anna Pavignano, will be entitled “Someone over there loves me”And through contents, unpublished documents and testimonies of colleagues and friends will tell the genius of the Neapolitan artist.

Martone and Massimo Troisi they were linked by one deep friendship sprung from a great mutual esteem. They would have liked to work together, but Troisi's premature death at the age of 41 did not allow it. In fact, Martone says he is enthusiastic about this new experience, here are his words:

The possibility that I am offered to make a documentary film in which the public can find it today on the big screen is therefore something special for me, I can go back to dialogue with him, listen to it and bring it to the spectators of yesterday and to those of today, who are so many.

Who is Mario Martone

Mario Martone was born in Naples on November 20, 1959 and is a film director, theater director and screenwriter.

Passionate about this world right from the start, he led his professional career in the theater by staging his first show.

In 1980 he approached the cinema instead, making a short film sponsored by the Banco di Napoli.

His works are worth him appreciation and recognition, just like Nostalgia, the film with which he was awarded the Nastri d'Argento. After dedicating Qui laugh io to the great Eduardo Scarpetta, Mario Martone is ready to give life to another incredible masterpiece, this time dedicated to Massimo Troisi.
