Fire on Naples-Salerno: substitutive buses and diverted trains

Trenitalia train

Due to the fire on the Naples-Salerno, many Trenitalia trains are diverted and replacement buses are inserted.

In the night between the 15 and the 16 November 2018 there was a fire on the Naples-Salerno line of Trenitalia, at the height of Santa Lucia gallery, during some scheduled maintenance interventions. The fire caused 5 injured and, of course, the stop to train traffic.

The accident occurred at about 2.35 am, but there are still many inconveniences this morning, in fact Trenitalia has prepared some substitute buses.

Replacement buses and changes in trains

The traffic is blocked between Salerno and Bivio Santa Lucia and buses guarantee the connections between Salerno and Caserta e between Salerno and Nocera Inferiore in addition to the Salerno-Campi Flegrei metropolitan service.

The IC traffic is conveyed via Cava de 'Tirreni / Nocera Inferiore, while the AV trains departing from Naples Central, where we remember, the Naples-Salerno line is canceled, they are diverted on the line Naples-Salerno via Torre Annunziata and they are undergoing delays up to 40 minutes.

To consult the detailed train circulation program, see the Trenitalia page on the Naples-Salerno route.
