Free tampons in Naples, but only to councilors and advisers: the resolution that causes discussion

Buffer

With the resolution number 591 issued on 30 December 2021, the Municipal Council of Naples, with the mayor Gaetano Manfredi, established free tampons for politicians.

Until March 31, 2022, therefore, the municipal administration will not purchase both antigenic and molecular buffers for the workers of the city council, for the secretarial staff, the staff of the mayor, councilors and councilors, but it will be the pharmacies and laboratories to provide them free of charge.

Instead, for all the other municipal workers the tampon will be paid, just like all other citizens.

The words of the opposition

In particular, they will therefore be the holders of testing laboratories and pharmacists to provide free swabs to politicians and to decide it was Vincenzo Santagada, Councilor for health of the Municipality of Naples e president of the order of pharmacists.

A decision that was not accepted by everyone, also because citizens who are forced to undergo the anti-Covid 19 test find themselves spending about 15 euros for the unsanitary it's about 60 euros for the molecular.

One of the exponents of the city council who took sides against this decision is Alessandra Clemente, former councilor in the municipal council of Luigi De Magistris, here his words:

I won't even do one of these free tampons because I'm not a privileged one.
