Mergellina funicular, service stopped on 12 and 13 June

La Mergellina funicular will be closed to the public Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th June for important maintenance operations.

The replacement bus line and stops

During the closing period, 7:00 am - 20:00 am, the will be active occasional line 621 with a frequency of 30 minutes.

Here is the route of line 621 with related intermediate stops:

• Mergellina (stop ANM No 2140 funicular high)
• Via Caracciolo
• Via Orazio
• Via Manzoni (funicular stop)
• Via Stazio
• Via Orazio
• Return to Mergellina

Maintenance operations that will cause obvious inconveniences, necessary for the operation of the plant, but which add to the inconveniences of Neapolitan transport which have been on the agenda for several years.

Added to this is that the 30 minute frequency of the replacement line is far too slow, not allowing for an adequate distribution of users, given that it is slower and more inefficient than the funicular, which however ran every 12 minutes.
