Mergellina Funicular closed on July 20th, shuttle 621 active

Domenica July 20, 2025, the funicular of Mergellina will remain closed for the whole day. It is to communicate it ANM, which has prepared an alternative plan to ensure mobility between the hilly district and the coastal area.

What are the alternatives available?

To compensate for the suspension of the service, the 621 replacement shuttle, in operation throughout the day. The line will follow a dedicated path designed to connect the main points of the route normally served by the funicular.

The shuttle will guarantee:

  • Regular departures every 20-30 minutes (variable depending on traffic)
  • Stops at the main stations
  • Service active from start to end of the financial year
