On the occasion of the G7 Culture Ministers Summit, which will be held in Naples from 19 at the 21 September 2024, the Municipality has decided to implement a series of temporary measures to better manage traffic and ensure safety.

There will be parking and stop bans in various areas of the city, changes to traffic and suspensions of some services, to ensure the proper running of the event. Here's what.

I Parking and stopping bans in Naples from 19 to 21 September

From September 19th at 06:00 up to 21 September 2024, various will be active parking and stop bans in some strategic areas of Naples. In particular, a ban on parking in paid areas will be imposed ramps of the Maschio Angioino, with the sole exception of vehicles of the PoliceThese bans will remain in effect until the end of the event.

Furthermore, other central streets, such as via Partenope, Via Santa Lucia e via Chiatamone, will see an extension of the parking bans, with forced removal of parked vehicles. Only the spaces reserved for disabled will be exempt, provided that the vehicles are authorised by name.

Here are the streets with no parking and forced removal:

  • Ramps of the Maschio Angioino: parking prohibited in regulated areas with blue lines, except for law enforcement.
  • Via Partenope: lane in front of theHotel Vesuvio and stretch between via Dumas Padre and via Nazario Sauro.
  • Via Santa Lucia: from the intersection with via Chiatamone to via Palepoli, sidewalk Hotel Vesuvio.
  • Via Chiatamone: from via Santa Lucia toHotel Vesuvio and up to the intersection with Via Dumas Padre.
  • Lucillo Street: section between via Santa Lucia and via Generale Orsini.
  • Via Nazario Sauro: from via Partenope to via Lucillo.
  • Dumas Father Street: entire section.
  • Museum Square: entire perimeter.
  • Piazza Cavour: roadway facing the MANN, from the intersection with via Decio Carli to the entrance of the “Museo” metro station.
  • Decio Carli Street: entire section.
  • Gagliardi square: entire area.
  • Via Santa Maria of Constantinople: from the stretch near the church of Santa Maria di Costantinopoli up to Piazza Museo.
  • Via Pesina: from the intersection with via Broggia to via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi.
  • Ramps of Via Salvatore Tommasi: from via Pessina to via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi, number 60.
  • Via Salvator Rosa: from the intersection with Via Pessina to Via Mancinelli.
  • Via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi: from the confluence with Via Pessina to the church of Santa Teresa degli Scalzi.
  • Plebiscito Square: ban in the interviali side Prefecture and side Palazzo Salerno.
  • Via Cesario Console: from Plebiscito Square up to the entrance of the Military Library, including the pavement on the Acton side of the road.
  • Via San Carlo: sidewalk and lane side Teatro San Carlo.
  • Piazza Trieste and Trento: entire perimeter.
  • Via Chiaia: from Piazza Trieste e Trento to Piazzetta Carolina.
  • Caroline square: entire area.
  • Salazar Square: entire area.
  • Page Ramps: entire section.

MTraffic changes and road closures

In addition to the parking bans, on the days of G7 summit there will be different road closures e changes to traffic to facilitate traffic management and ensure the safety of participants.

From September 20th from 07:00 to 16:00 PM, September 21, 2024, will be banned vehicular transit in some key areas of the city, with exceptions limited to authorized or emergency vehicles only. The affected areas include:

  • Plebiscito Square: lanes in front Prefecture e Palazzo Salerno.
  • Lonely Street: entire section.Salazar Square: entire area.
  • Page Ramps: entire section.
  • Via San Carlo: lane and sidewalk side Teatro San Carlo.
  • Piazza Trieste and Trento: entire perimeter.
  • St. Nicholas of Tolentino Street: taken from the intersection with Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
  • Brancaccio ramps: from the intersection with Via Vito Fornari.

Ssuspensions of public services and changes in parking areas

In the days of 19, 20 and 21 September 2024, some rest areas e public transport services will be subject to suspensions or limitations to allow the proper conduct of the summit. In particular, the areas reserved for taxi and parking of public transport vehicles will be temporarily suspended in various areas.

Here are the main suspensions:

  • Via San Carlo: suspension of areas reserved for taxi parking and for buses in urban service.
  • Piazza Carolina: suspension of the taxi parking area.
  • Via Cesario Console: suspension of areas reserved for stopping vehicles used for public transport in urban service.
  • Plebiscito Square: suspension of parking areas near Palazzo Salerno e Prefecture.
  • Via Santa Lucia: suspension of the parking area reserved for taxis.
  • Dumas Father Street: suspension of the parking area reserved for taxis.
  • Museum Square: suspension of the taxi parking area and the “Museo” bus stop.
