Giglio 2026 in San Giovanni a Teduccio: Road closures and diversions

On the occasion of the Giglio 2026 event in Vico Detto Emanuele , the City of Naples has established a temporary traffic system in the San Giovanni a Teduccio neighborhood. Traffic and parking restrictions, with forced removal, will affect Via Villa San Giovanni, Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani, and Vico Detto Emanuele on August 26 and from September 4 to 6, 2026. Here are the details of the roads, times, and alternative routes.

When the bans come into force

The measures are in effect on four different days, with times that vary depending on the day. Generally, the traffic ban starts at 19:00 PM and lasts until 23:59 PM , while the parking ban starts in the afternoon, at 15:00 PM , and continues until no longer necessary.

• August 26, 2026, transit prohibited from 19:00 pm, parking prohibited from 15:00 pm.
• 4 September 2026, transit prohibited from 19:00 pm, parking prohibited from 15:00 pm.
• 5 September 2026, transit prohibited from 19:00 pm, parking prohibited from 15:00 pm.
• 6 September 2026, staggered times: parking prohibited from 07:00, transit in bands.

Road closures and parking restrictions, day by day

August 26, 2026

Traffic will be prohibited on Via Villa San Giovanni , between the intersection with Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani (at number 145) and Vico Detto Emanuele (at number 4), from 19:00 PM to 23:59 PM. Parking is prohibited on the same stretch, with forced removal, on both sides, from 15:00 PM.

Vico detto Emanuele will be closed in the section between Via Villa San Giovanni and the junction with Via Martiri del Cilento.

4 September 2026

The traffic ban, from 19:00 PM to 23:59 PM, concerns three roads:

• Nicolangelo Protopisani course, from number 56 (opposite the University entrance) to the roundabout on Viale Due Giugno;
• Villa San Giovanni Street, between the intersection with Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani and number 145;
• alley called Emanuele, between via Villa San Giovanni and the confluence with via Martiri del Cilento.

The parking ban with forced removal, on both sides, is in effect on the same stretches from 15:00 PM to 23:59 PM.

5 September 2026

Traffic will be prohibited from 19:00 PM to 23:59 PM in Vico Detto Emanuele between Via Villa San Giovanni and number 4, in Via Villa San Giovanni between Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani and number 145, and in Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani from number 56 to number 111. The same alternative route planned for September 4th applies.

Parking with forced removal is prohibited, on both sides, in the same areas from 15:00 PM to 23:59 PM.

6 September 2026

Last day with different hours. Traffic is prohibited on Via Villa San Giovanni from 09:00 AM to 13:30 PM and from 18:00 PM to 23:59 PM, and on Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani from 18:00 PM to 23:59 PM.

The parking ban with forced removal is in force in vico detto Emanuele , between number 4 and via Villa San Giovanni, and in via Villa San Giovanni , between numbers 151 and 111, from 07:00 to 23:45.

Alternative routes

For those coming from Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani, Via Nuova Villa and Via Ravello can be reached by taking Corso San Giovanni, Via Ferrante Imparato, and Via Comunale Ottaviano . Alternatively, from Via delle Repubbliche Marinare, you can go via Via Sorrento . The same route is also valid for September 5th.

When do I have to move my car?

Before the parking ban begins: by 15:00 PM on August 26, September 4 and 5, and by 07:00 AM on September 6. Anyone leaving their vehicle on the affected streets risks being towed away.

Do the bans also apply to residents?

The Naples City Council ordinance does not provide specific exemptions for residents: the measure applies to all vehicles, with transit and parking prohibited in the designated areas and during the designated time slots.
