Le FAI Spring Days 2026 they also come back in Campania with a program full of special openings. Saturday 21 March is Sunday 22 March numerous historical and cultural places will be exceptionally visitable thanks to the initiative promoted by the FAI - Fund for the Italian Environment.

Among the most anticipated novelties of this edition is the possibility of entering the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, one of the symbolic places of the city and of the history of Italian football.

The event, which has arrived at 34 edition, involves over 780 locations throughout Italy, with guided tours organised by FAI volunteers and accessible with free contribution.

Maradona Stadium among the special places to visit

Among the most particular openings of the FAI 2026 Days it really stands out Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, located in the neighborhood Fuorigrotta.

The tour will allow visitors to discover not only the sporting history of the facility, but also the urban context in which it was founded and developed. During the tour, visitors will be able to observe the playing field from the sidelines and cross some of the areas normally reserved for athletes and staff.

Among the spaces included in the route there is also the so-called “Blue Mile”, the internal section of the stadium which includes:

  • the visiting team's changing rooms
  • le pre-race preparation areas
  • la mini swimming pool used by athletes
  • la pressroom
  • the spaces dedicated to post-match interviews

The visit takes on an even more symbolic value because the 2026 marks the centenary of the Napoli Football Club, founded in 1926.

The history of the Fuorigrotta stadium

The sports facility was inaugurated on December 6, 1959 with the name of Stadium of the Sun. In 1963 was renamed Stadio San Paolo, a name that remained in the memory of fans for decades.

Only in 2020, after the death of Diego Armando Maradona, the stadium took on its current name dedicated to the Argentine champion who marked the history of the club.

The original project was carried out by the architect Carlo Cocchia and featured a single tier of stands. Over the years, the structure has been expanded and modified several times, especially for major international football events.

Important interventions have been carried out for:

  • Euro 1980 Football Championship
  • World Cup Italy '90
  • il 2019 restyling, which introduced solutions also oriented to energy saving.

Palazzo d'Avalos del Vasto in Naples

Among the places you can visit in Naples during the FAI days there is also Palazzo d'Avalos del Vasto, a historic building of great architectural value.

The palace was built between 1489 and 1525 from the leader Franz Ferdinand d'Avalos, Marquis of Pescara, and over time it became one of the most prestigious residences of the Neapolitan nobility.

Over the centuries, the building has undergone numerous expansion and restoration projects. In the 19th century, a long building was added, giving the palace its characteristic U-shape still visible today.

During the FAI Spring Visitors will have exceptional access to some of the internal spaces, including:

  • the monumental staircase
  • the frescoed rooms
  • some areas of the historic noble apartment.

Entrance is reserved for FAI members.

The Nolana Foundry in Nola

Among the sites open to the public in Campania there is also the Nolana Foundry, Located Nola, in the province of Naples.

Founded in the 1970s by Pasquale Del Giudice, the foundry today represents one of the most important centers for the artistic working of bronze.

Inside the structure coexist ancient artisan techniques, such as the fusion to lost wax, and advanced digital technologies used for the creation of monumental sculptures.

Over the years the foundry has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as:

  • Mimmo Paladino
  • Igor Mitoray
  • Jan Fabre.

During the visit it will be possible to observe the creation process of the works up close and discover one of the symbols of the laboratory's artistic production: the replica of the Madonnina of the Milan Cathedral, made for Expo 2015, .

L'Orto House in Praiano

In Amalfi Coast, In the municipality of Praiano, will be open to visitors The Garden House, a residence linked to the figure of the American artist LeWitt sun, one of the protagonists of conceptual art.

The house, built in eighteenth century, belonged to the artist's wife's family and over the years has become a meeting place for creatives and researchers.

LeWitt restored the building and designed a organic garden on the terraces surrounding the property. Inside the house he also created two large murals, symbolically completed on the day of his death in 2007.

Today the complex is managed by the project Marea Art Project, an artistic residency program dedicated to contemporary experimentation and production.

During the FAI opening it will be possible to see original works by Sol LeWitt and learn about the history of this cultural space immersed in the coastal landscape.

A weekend dedicated to discovering the heritage

Le FAI Spring represent one of the most anticipated cultural events in Italy every year. The initiative allows access to places often closed to the public or difficult to visit, thanks to the work of volunteers, students and local associations.
