Neapolitan Health Days 2024, screening and well-being in Piazza del Plebiscito

Neapolitan Days of Health, Prevention and Wellbeing are back for the third edition on 26 and 27 October 2024. Piazza del Plebiscito will be the heart of the event, offering citizens a precious opportunity to take care of their well-being thanks to free screening and medical visits. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of prevention and health through collaboration between health organizations and academic institutions.

Free screening and medical visits

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to undergo free screenings and medical visits, thanks to the support of the Local Health Authorities,AOU Frederick II, "Federico II" University of Naples and University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. Doctors and specialists will be available to offer consulting and promote the prevention and health care.

What free screenings will be available?

Among the many stands, it will also be possible to find:

1. Obesity and metabolic diseases – Nutritional assessment, body composition and advice for proper nutrition.
2. Cardiovascular pathologies – Cardiology visits, ECG, echocardiogram, blood pressure and cholesterol control, cardiovascular risk assessment.
3. Oncological screening – Breast cancer screening (mammography, ultrasound), thyroid ultrasound, head and neck cancer screening, breast and dermatological examination, and dermatoscopy.
4. Prevention of infectious diseases – HIV, HCV testing, STD screening, pediatric and adult vaccinations.
5. Urology and Prostate – Urological and prostate health screenings.
6. Pediatric health – Neonatal screening, pediatric infectious diseases, childhood obesity, urological screening for children, breastfeeding promotion.
7. Gynecology and obstetrics – Pap tests, HPV screening, pregnancy counseling, breastfeeding prevention and promotion.
8. Dermatologist – Skin cancer prevention, self-assessment and dermatological screening.
9. Geriatrics – Evaluation of functional and nutritional capacities for people over sixty-five.
10. Neurology – Screening for headaches, neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s), digital tests for neurological monitoring.
11. Psychiatry – Psychological counseling, prevention and support for mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and stress management.
12. Ophthalmology – Prevention of eye diseases such as glaucoma and retinopathy.
13. Physical medicine and rehabilitation – Assessment of osteoporosis risk, muscle strength and sarcopenia.
14. Prevention of chronic diseases – Diabetes, hypertension, chronic renal failure and other pathologies with a social impact.
15. Mental and psychological health – Prevention of mental distress, psychological counseling, stress management.
