Napoli returns as the protagonist of the Giro d'Italia 2025 with the arrival of the sixth stage, scheduled Thursday May 15. After the success of the previous editions, this year too the city welcomes the pink caravan, in an event eagerly awaited by fans, cycling enthusiasts and citizens. The stage will be the longer than the 2025 Giro with its 227 km and will connect Potenza a Napoli, crossing suggestive territories of Lucania and Campania. The finish line is scheduled on the spectacular straight of the Caracciolo seafront, with a sprint finish around 17:30.

The Potenza-Naples stage: main features

The sixth stage starts from Potenza and extends for 227 km, with a total altitude difference of 2600 meters. After the first climbs in Lucania, including the Monte Carruozzo pass, the race enters Campania, touching Irpinia, Nolano and the metropolitan area of ​​Naples. The route faces fast stretches and dense urban centers, until entering the heart of the city for the last 45 km.

Among the most significant passages:

  • the crossing of the Caivano Green Park with tribute to the Morano Institute,
  • the passage next to the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano,
  • numerous junctions and roundabouts in metropolitan areas,
  • typical Neapolitan cobblestones and paving in the final stretch.

In the last stretch, the race will cross some of the most central arteries of Naples. The city route includes:

  • Via Amerigo Vespucci
  • Via Nuova Marina
  • Via Christopher Columbus
  • Via Admiral Ferdinando Acton

  • Via Partenope
  • Via Francesco Caracciolo (final straight)

The final stretch will be on asphalt, 9 metres wide and 900 metres long, ideal for a spectacular group sprint.

What to know about traffic and timetables

Il City of Naples , Prefecture they have already prepared a traffic floor with temporary closures as the race passes and police presence.
The passage of the race in the city is expected among the 17pm and 00pm. Along the entire route there are transit restrictions e changes to traffic.

In support of the event, in piazza del Plebiscito it will also be set up GiroLand village, open from 13pm to 00pm with free activities for all ages.

The Giro d'Italia in Naples 2025 will therefore be not only a stage of great sporting prestige, but also a moment of collective celebration that will involve the entire city.
