At the Nuovo Teatro Sanità the focus on Sicilian theater continues with “Glam City”, the story of an ambitious young man who clashes with the reality of his beloved Catania.
From January 26 28 2018 to will be on stage, al New Health Theater of Naples, the show Glam City, taken from the homonymous novel by Domenico Trischitta, directed by Nicola Alberto Orofino and starring Silvio Laviano.
Set in the 70 years in Catania, Glam City tells the story of a different boy full of ambitions, Gerry Garozzo, who dreams of entering the entertainment world, of doing the trasformista. A dream destined to break when, with other colorful friends, it will attempt a costume revolution, made of cross-dressing and transgression.
Gerry will soon be against that his "Glam City", his Milan of the South, is not London, but only a city that, yesterday like today, represents a place of province in search of redemption, characterized by arrogant inhabitants, a wild nightlife and a "glam" that rarely manages to reach. A small city that always remains the same, crushed between the volcano and the sea.
The young protagonist of Glam City he will soon move to Milan, where from the promise of the song he will become a transvestite of Milanese avenues. But the 90 years soon arrive, Gerry returns to Catania and no longer finds the "glam" city of the 70 years. Where will his revolution be?
