The Oscars 2023 gift bags look more like the Mary Poppins bag, which, as we know, contains the most disparate objects. Here's what's inside and who they're given to.
The gift bags , which will be given to all 2023 Oscar nominees during Sunday’s ceremony, are aptly called “win-everything gift bags,” because even if you don’t take home an Oscar , you’ll take home a lot of so-called “swag.”
However, this is not a normal gift bag with candles and chocolate inside, even if there are those too.
What will candidates receive for the Oscar 2023
- A free facial rejuvenation surgery from the plastic surgeon Konstantin Vasyukevich of New York
- A shamanic reading by the author Jo Bowlby
- A free project management from House Construction
- A travel pillow PETA
- A stay on an Italian island
- A stay on an estate in Canada
The bags also contain many food items, from popcorn to shokupan, a popular Japanese milk bread, and alcoholic beverages, including wine and tequila.
The Oscars 2023 Gift Bag, here's what it contains
The 2023 Oscars gift bags will also include:
- Supplements for fertility
- several products for beauty and for the well-being
- Un bath ritual set
- An pillowcase of silk
- Un oil for edible massages.
The bags were prepared by marketing firm Distinctive Assets , which has been coordinating giveaways for awards shows such as the Grammy Awards and BET since 1999.
Forbes estimated the value of the contents of the 2023 Oscars gift bags at around $126 , but Lash Fary , founder of Distinctive Assets , said that value is “not their goal nor their ultimate goal.”
“These nominees are in a unique position to help participating brands immeasurably by simply wearing, using and talking about these products. Marketing and advertising can and should coexist with the constant spread of negative news globally. It's not about frivolity, it's about basic economics."
The 2023 Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 12, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles . Nominees include Austin Butler , Michelle Yeoh , Ana de Armas , Angela Bassett , Jamie Lee Curtis , and Brendan Fraser for their performances, and singers Rihanna and Lady Gaga for their original songs.
