The ugly gesture made by Blanco on the Ariston stage continues to cause discussion: the president of the Liguria region, entering the midst of the controversy, personally invited the young singer-songwriter to visit their greenhouses "So you will be able to see with your own eyes the extraordinary commitment and the excellence of our flower growers.”
The anger of the Sanremo fans (and not only) does not subside, nor does the controversy over the ugly incident made by Blanco , winner of the 2022 edition of the Sanremo Festival together with Mahmood , during the presentation of L'Isola delle Rose , a song taken from his new album and written together with Salmo.
In the last few hours, in addition to many ordinary people and celebrities, who have massively condemned the destruction of the beautiful roses by the singer, the president of the Liguria region has also intervened , who in an open letter published on Riviera24 , addressed Blanco as follows :
"No one should touch the flowers of Sanremo! Dear Blanco, behind the floral display you so carelessly destroyed last night lies the history of an entire city and the intense work of our flower growers. That's why I want to personally invite you to visit our greenhouses to see with your own eyes the extraordinary commitment and excellence of the professionals who uphold a tradition that has become an international heritage and is part of the DNA of Liguria and Sanremo, just like the Festival."
The letter from the president of the Liguria region to Blanco "It is the best example you can give to your peers."
Continuing in his letter, Giovanni Toti emphasizes that, in this way, he will be able to give the best example to all the kids his age who love him and follow his music:
"At your age, sometimes mistakes are made but you can always recover and even from mistakes... a flower can be born!"
The destruction of the Sanremo roses , with Blanco even kicking the soil in which they had been placed, was also condemned by Gianni Morandi , who, after having calmed Blanco down and helped the cleaning ladies to tidy up the Ariston stage (even with a broom), specified that technical problems can happen and that, in that case, it is sufficient for the singer to stop and warn Amadeus , without destroying everything:
“Technical problems can happen, but that doesn't mean you have to destroy everything and reduce the stage to this state.”
Both hosts were very sorry for the destroyed roses (flowers, as we know, are the symbol of Sanremo and, at the end of each performance, are given as gifts to all the competing singers) and Amadeus himself had a hard time calming down the audience in the room , which was very furious , and only succeeded when he raised his voice.
