The Lucciole e Sibilla event at Lake Averno will offer an enchanting guided tour with tastings of typical products.
On May 20, 2016 the Lucciole e Sibilla event returns, organized by the Archaeological Group of the Phlegraean Fields which will be held on Lake Averno in Pozzuoli.
The evening guided tour will be illuminated by the suggestive twinkle of the fireflies while, along the way, we will be told about the ancient legend of the Sibyl, according to which Aeneas, having arrived in Cumae, meets the priestess of Apollo who prophesies his future. The hero wishes to meet his father and so enters the Sibyl's cave to enter Hades.
The Sibyl's cave, which was a sort of oracle, is located, according to literary references, right near the lake. To conclude the walk, there will be one tasting of PDO wines and typical products of the Campi Flegrei Cellars of the Averno.
In addition, for children from 4 to 12 years, starting from 20 May, every Friday and Sunday until 19 June and on request also on other days, special tours will be organized with departure at 20.00 at the Caronte Ristopub in via Lago d'Averno n.2.
