Two days a week and throughout the summer in Herculaneum there are evening visits to rediscover life in the city at the time of ancient Rome
From July to 13 16 September 2018, during the evenings of Friday and Saturday, you can visit the excavations of Herculaneum even in the evening, with a tour of about an hour in which you will rediscover the ancient city rebuilding a market or party day. For each evening, six visits are scheduled starting at 20.10 every half hour.
The Hercolaneum Experience was born with the intention of making the public make a real journey in time in the places of ancient Herculaneum to make them the protagonists of anew and sensorial archaeological experience. The event was organized by the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum in collaboration with Scabec and is part of the project Campania by Night.
During this special program of visits the participants will be accompanied by a group of actors and musicians that will illustrate the streets, monuments and houses illuminated and animated by the frenetic life that could once be in Herculaneum on a market and festive day on the occasion of ludi organized by the Senate in honor of Marco Nonio Balbo.
