The Hazelnut and the Roads of the Ovens 2026: The 20th Edition in Marzano di Nola

It turns 20 and for the first time it is extended over two days : Il Nocciolo e le Strade dei Forni returns to Marzano di Nola on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September 2026 , with free entry to the historic centre.

The festival dedicated to the Mortarella hazelnut , the heart of the identity of the village in the Agro Nolano recognized as the City of Hazelnuts , in 2025 recorded around 6.000 visitors in a single evening.

A celebration that has become intangible heritage

In September 2025, the Campania Region included the Marzano di Nola hazelnut cultivation in the Inventory of Campania's Intangible Cultural Heritage (IPIC) . This initiative is part of the Regional Strategic Plan for the Ancient Lands of the Hazelnut.

Families in the historic center open their courtyards and light their wood-fired ovens to bake bread with lard, pastries, and hazelnut sweets, along a route stretching between Via Roma , Piazza Marconi , and the streets of the village.

What are we eating

At the stands, you can sample local peasant cuisine : spaghetti with hazelnuts , pastiera 'e maccaruni , bread with lard baked in a wood-fired oven, walnut tart , pastries , and hazelnut desserts . The full menu for the 2026 edition will be announced in the coming days.

The program: medieval procession and music

Alongside the tastings, the 20th edition offers a medieval historical procession with flag-wavers and costumed figures, live folk music , street artists , crafts and exhibitions.
