IMAGO 2025, the comic contest returns to COMICON Naples

The 2025 edition of IMAGO, the long-awaited competition dedicated to comics and graphics, returns to COMICON Naples with a very current theme: #DigitalGeneration: With great technologies comes great responsibilities! The initiative, born from the writer's idea Maurice Bridge, continues to promote artistic experimentation and contemporary visual language.

An initiative that combines art and innovation

The competition is supported by numerous exceptional partner, with the main sponsor Caffè Borbone on the front line. Important entities such as the Italian School of Comix, ILAS Study Center, Gino Ramaglia, Trudi, Tunué, XPPen, Editrice Il Castoro, Drosselmeier Academy, Inkomics Café, Matrici Cultural Association and the GameCon International Game and Video Game Exhibition. Furthermore, IMAGO boasts the patronage of Authors of Images and the moral patronage of the General Directorate of the USR for Campania of the Ministry of Education and Merit.

Theme 2025: #DigitalGeneration

Technological evolution offers extraordinary possibilities, but also brings with it new responsibilities. The theme chosen for the 2025 edition invites participants to reflect on the impacts of digital, from the opportunities offered byartificial intelligence to the fight against the misinformationParticipants will be able to represent a future in which technology is at the service of society or, on the contrary, imagine dystopian scenarios where digital becomes a danger.

How to participate

The contest is open to students, enthusiasts and hobbyists, while they are excluded professionals and semi-professionalsParticipation occurs through the creation of a one page drawing or cartoon, respecting the following specifications:

• Minimum format A4, maximum A3, mounted on black cardboard maximum 34×46 cm.
• Only original works: the use of Generative AI is banned and will result in exclusion from the competition.
• Online registration through the form available on https://forms.gle/4u8wPMJJPprNVj4g9.

Deadlines and awards

All material must be delivered by April 7, 2025 at Inkomics Café – Via Mosca 27, 80129 Naples. The selected works will be exhibited at COMICON Napoli 2025 and voted directly by the public.

The winners will be announced on 4 May 2025, during an official ceremony at the Sala Italia of the Mediterranean Theatre of the Mostra d'Oltremare. There will be numerous prizes up for grabs offered by the competition's partners, with particular attention to the contribution of the main sponsor Caffè Borbone.
