Coming to Bacoli, the new seaside promenade between history and nature

A new wonder is added to the heritage of Bacoli: a panoramic route which crosses the Municipal Archaeological Park of Villa Ferretti, offering a spectacular view of the sea and the ancient remains of the Phlegraean coast. The project, strongly supported by the local administration, represents a further step in the enhancement of the territory, transforming a degraded area into a corner of beauty accessible to all.

A journey between sea and history

The walk connects Villa Ferretti to the beach, crossing an area of great historical and landscape valueThe path, which was once in critical condition, has been completely redeveloped and now allows visitors to walk along the coast admiring the remains of ancient Roman villas and crystal clear waters. The area is also home to one of the facilities of theFederico II University, confirming Bacoli's role as a centre of culture and research.

The Mayor Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, announcing the inauguration on social media, underlined the importance of the project for the community: “This is how we defend and enhance our land, in a place where the State has won against organized crime. One step at a time, we are giving back to the citizens a unique space”.

The new walk is part of a path of recovery and enhancement of Villa Ferretti, once belonging to organized crime and today a symbol of legality. After becoming the seat of the Federico II University, the villa saw the birth of a Medicine Center and today it is enriched with this new walk, making it even more accessible for citizens and tourists.

During the summer months, visitors will also have free access to the Villa Ferretti beach, one of the most evocative in the area, surrounded by a large park named after Peppino Impastato, symbol of the fight against the mafia.

When does it open?

At the moment, no official date has been announced for the opening of the new promenade in Municipal Archaeological Park of Villa Ferretti.
