Perhaps not everyone knows that in Campania it is lit every year the tallest Christmas tree in Europe, a beautiful record for a very suggestive event suitable for holidays.
Precisely, the tree finds a Caposele, a typical and characteristic village in the province of Avellino, and it is a Greek fir that is placed in the center of the country so that anyone can see it.
Like every year, the lighting of this tree is also symbolic because it wants to represent the lighting of the hope, and this time even more because it is dedicated to those who struggle daily against tragic illnesses like tumors.
All proceeds from the event will go to beneficence to support cancer research and prevention.
When the tallest tree in Europe will be lit
Ignition will take place on 3 December 2022 with a beautiful ceremony that will kick off the illuminations. It will begin at 19.30 in the Parco della Sanità with the music of the cover band Post Punk.
How tall is the Caposele Christmas tree
The Tree is tall 33 meters and 2 km of lights will be used to illuminate it and make it beautiful even from a very long distance.
A weekend with the Christmas markets
There will not only be the tallest Christmas tree in Europe in Caposele, but in the weekend on 3 and 4 December markets will also be organised. Immediately after the lighting ceremony, the markets will also be inaugurated with many stands local food and wine, typical and traditional Christmas dishes (for example Matesse and chickpeas), handicraft products and also lots of music and shows.
Santa's House for children
The little ones, but certainly also the older ones, will love it too Santa's House where they will meet the bearded and generous Santa Claus. There will be many surprises to discover.
Santa's House will be open every weekend until 6 January 2023. There will be inflatables, thePost office, il Elf laboratory, the Ice Room and many activities.
The concerts of the weekend of 3 and 4 December
During the two days of the weekend there will be the following musical events.

- 19.30: Post Punk at the inauguration of the Tree

- 17.30 pm: Latin Heart
- 18.00: Latin Art Academy
- 18.30: Dancing Queen
- 20.00 pm: Vienteterra, Piazza Dante
- itinerant through the streets of the Borgo: Bassa Musica
Guided visits to the Springs
On December 3rd and 4th it will be possible to take guided tours of the Caposele Springs:
- Saturday from 10.30 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 19.30
- Sunday from the 10.30 16.30
Furthermore, on December 4th it will also be possible to participate in the Trekking of the Fountains with departure at 9.00 from Piazza Sanità. The price is 20 euros and includes a guide, lunch on the summit and a visit to the springs.
