At the cloister of San Domenico Maggiore in Naples the Festival of Philosophy in Magna Graecia 2019: a three-day trip with the giants

The house of philosophy in Naples is therefore the convent of San Domenico Maggiore. Here the organizers have identified the genius loci, the spirit of the place over the centuries has generated ideas, dissertations and philosophical speculations.
Here they investigated three great ones like Tommaso d'Aquino, Giordano Bruno and Tommaso Campanella. Reconnecting with this generating force is the goal of this Magna Graecia project, which in its name obviously recalls the great cultural heritage left in Southern Italy by the Hellenic diaspora who landed on these coasts as early as the eighth century BC.
In the cloister in front of an attentive audience the three Dominican philosophers will be confronted, interpreted by the actors Riccardo Marotta, Danilo Piscopo and Noemi Perfetto.
Important themes on the program: democracy, politics, good forms of government, utopia. Introduced by Professor Annalisa Di Nuzzo, who among other things will highlight the deep bond of these giants of thought with the city of Naples, which they lived in different ways, much loved but also, in some ways, 'suffered'.
