In Naples, the Casa delle Genti reopens, the reception service for the homeless

The House of the People, or the reception service for the homeless, finally reopens and the inauguration took place just a few days ago, in the presence of the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, the Municipal Councilor for Social Policies Luca Trapanese and Father Salvatore Farì.

The initiative represents an activity of first intervention, addressed to all those people who for one reason for another are unable to provide for their basic needs and are therefore exposed to conditions of abandonment and marginalization.

The House of the People

La Community of Peoples was born in 2020, and therefore in the time of the Coronavirus pandemic, to help fragile people and give a place to the homeless. It is located in the real estate complex of the Foundation Retreat of Santa Maria del Gran Trionfo founded by the Cardinal Sepe in 2008.

La House of the People it is a structure of 4000 square meters, can accommodate a maximum of 32 people in 16 double rooms. The house offers several services, such as laundry, dining room, kitchen, toilet, media room, terrace.

And then again the TV room, WiFi network, computer classroom, luggage room, chapel, garden, infirmary, counseling room e listening and promotion workshops.

The Casa delle Genti is a solidarity project and it is open to all, without exclusion of origin, social affiliation, religious belief and social extraction. The stay in this structure will be determined according to the needs of each individual person, by means of interview e reception contract.
