A vast fire broke out near the University of Monte Sant'Angelo in Naples of Frederick II, forcing theevacuation of students and teachers. The event obviously alarmed students and residents as the black smoke that rose was of considerable size.

The fire and evacuation operations

A fire broke out near the University of Monte Sant'Angelo in Naples, precisely in the area of via Cinthia. The University, part of Federico II, immediately started the procedures evacuation to ensure the safety of students and teachers who have abandoned the various departments.

The fire, most likely fueled by the burning of some tyres, caused a dense column of black smoke, visible from afar and accompanied by an intense smell of burnt plastic.

The intervention of the firefighters

The Naples Fire Brigade promptly arrived on site, supported by the Bagnoli Carabinieri. To combat the flames, firefighters employed helicopters for aerial reconnaissance, necessary to reach the most difficult areas.

The flames, initially out of control, are already almost tamed thanks to the combined intervention of the teams on the ground and the air units. Fortunately, no one was injured.
