The historic buildings of the banks of Naples open their doors to the public for free visits thanks to the “Invito a Palazzo” initiative.

This year there will be the sixteenth edition of "Invitation to the Palace“, An initiative that the 7 October 2017 allows you to visit for free historic buildings also of Napoli and predominantly historic and modern headquarters of banks, foundations of banking origin coordinated by Acri and the Bank of Italy.

Throughout the day the doors of these important buildings will be open to the public to allow everyone to admire works of art and visit exhibitions within the walls of these branches belonging to the banks. For the first time, in this edition there will be the participation of high school students, who will guide visitors in the “Guide for a day” project.

The children will be able to both promote our cultural heritage in the best possible way, and take advantage of this opportunity as a further moment of shared study and will become the real protagonists of the event. For citizens and tourists, however, it will be an opportunity to get to know places that are often inaccessible, but which are part of our identity.

Palaces open in Naples

Palazzo Ricca Banco di Napoli Foundation

Palazzo Ricca is located near the Castel Capuano and is in sixteenth-century style. It is home to the Banco di Napoli Foundation and its Historical Archive. In its 330 rooms there is also the museum ilCartastorie with the Kaleidos multimedia itinerary which will be open on Sundays from 10.00 to 18.00.

In Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano there will be guided tours in continuous cycle, without reservation. The last Caravaggio, "Il Martirio di Sant'Orsola", will unfortunately not be exhibited because it is on loan to the "Dentro Caravaggio" exhibition in Milan, but it will be possible to admire over 120 works by great Neapolitan and southern artists from '600 to' 900 in general as Artemisia Gentileschi, Luca Giordano e Anton Smick Pitloo. It is currently on display "The thousand lights of New York“, With works by American artists in 80s New York, namely Warhol, Basquiat, Clemente, Haring and Schnabel.

Palazzo Vallelonga Banca di Credito Popolare - Torre del Greco

The Palazzo Vallelonga, by don Lelio Castiglione Morelli Marquis of Vallelonga, is one Vesuvian Villa of the '700 and was acquired by the Popular Credit Bank in the 1982. The most important elements of the Villa are the main facade, the neoclassical staircase of Vanvitelli, the Board Room and the courtyard.
