One of the most famous historical trains in Campania returns, the Irpinia Express, which allows us to cross the most beautiful places in Irpinia aboard vintage wagons.
It restarts on Sunday 10 July 2022 to lead us to the village of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi and, in the next appointments, it will cross Nusco, Casteltevere sul Calore and Montella.
It will be a nice dive into nature and Irpinia traditions enriched also by food and wine and art, all for the tourist enhancement of Irpinia with a so-called sweet form of mobility.
The schedule of departures
10 July
We arrive in Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi, a characteristic village with a medieval atmosphere, which was also one of those affected by the 1980 earthquake and of which still bears wounds.
Times and calendar of the day:
- departure at 9.00 from the Avellino station
- arrival at 11.40 at the Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi station
- visit to the Goleto Abbey, transfer to the village and free lunch at the restaurants: La Locanda di Enza (tel. 0827-23888) or Pueta Restaurant (tel. 0827-24482). Reservations are recommended
- At 15.15 pm gathering in Piazza De Sanctis and walk through the alleys of the village with a break in the square at the Pro Loco headquarters with toast and opening of the stands with typical products
- visit to the cathedral and the crypt, the belvedere and the Castle
- 17.00 departure for Avellino with expected arrival at 20.00
16 July
We're going to Nusco, "The balcony of Irpinia" with the format "that jumps in mint". It is a manifestation of the Pro Loco to discover mint, the native plant of the Nuscan paths. Timetables have not yet been communicated.

- 11: 35/40 - Arrival at Nusco Station and Transfer by shuttle to the village of Nusco - Welcome and greetings by the ProLoco di Nusco

Double stage a Castelvetere on Heat e Montemarano, famous for the carnival and the Montemaranese tarantella. You can taste the typical "maccaronara". Timetables have not yet been communicated.

- 10:17 AM Arrival at Castelvetere Sul Calore station. Transfer with shuttles to the cellars of the village.
