Jovanotti and the controversy over the Jova Beach Party: this is what happened

Jovanotti, after many accused him of destroying nature with his Jova Beach Party, lashed out on Instagram against influencers and environmental organizations, calling them "econazis". And the response was not long in coming, even from newspapers and politics.

The controversy over the second edition of the Jova Beach Party, the concert event on the beach strongly desired by Jovanotti, which will disembark on 2 and 3 September in Viareggio in the province of Lucca.

In recent days there have been many, including influencers and environmental organizations, to make their voices heard against Jova Beach Party, calling it "anti ecological" (especially for the large number of people who take part, which is around fifty thousand) and invoking a ban on what, according to everyone, is a concert that, rather than promoting it, would destroy the nature and its inhabitants.

Already in 2019, for the first edition, the environmental associations had expressed many doubts, but the concert event had taken place anyway. Now, however, the situation is getting very hot because, in the meantime, the location chosen for the Jova Beach Party it has become the habitat of numerous living species, some of which are seriously threatened.

Jovanotti lashed out at those he labeled as "econazis", but then backed down

E Jovanotti, although he has always been a promoter of "peace in the world and among peoples" and of nature, in recent days he certainly did not send them to tell influencers and environmental associations, going so far as to define them "econazis”And inviting them to come and see for themselves how the beaches are cleaned up and improved after the event.

Geologist Mario Tozzi's response to the singer: "Jovanotti, you're wrong!"

His piqued response sparked the geologist's equally salacious reply Mario Tozzi, which from the columns of the newspaper The print he addressed a long letter with a very evocative title "Dear Jova this time you are wrong".

As pointed out by the scientist, the problem lies not in the event itself, but in the number of people it attracts, which are not a hundred people, but fifty thousand:

"A recent CNR study estimated that a bather who spends a day at the beach takes away between 50 and 100 grams of sand on average, willy-nilly."

Another critical point pointed out by the geologist, and for which the event should not be made, is that the coastlines are the most delicate that can exist and are compromised above all in Italy.

Jovanotti: why the Jova Beach Party is unleashing the controversy of ecologists and the "damage" it would have done during the first edition

Letter to which he replied the same Jovanotti on Facebook, saying that they never go to places where there is the possibility of nesting of the refectory (a threatened species) or the presence of caretta caretta or other protected or threatened animal or plant species.

The singer then went on to say that he asked the WWF if it was true that for the first edition of the Jova Beach Party they had flattened two natural dunes, and the ecological association has shown documents certifying that the natural dunes of the beaches where he will perform with his band have been gone for decades.

Jovanotti turns around: "For me the econazis are ..."

Returning instead to the theme of the econazis, Jovanotti he partially retracted his words, specifying that for him they are those dangerous mythos who violently polarize the great question of ecology within small personal brands that are not accredited except by themselves and by the likes remedied at random.

Jovanotti: also “Italia Nostra” against the Jova Beach Party

Not just scientists, influencers and environmental organizations: also Italia Nostra Onlus has lashed out at the Jova Beach Party, defining the chosen location, the so-called "Muraglione beach", not compatible with the principles of environmental protection which, moreover, the event of Jovanotti pretends to want to defend.

Words that, however, were returned to the sender by the mayor of Viareggio, George Del Ghingaro, who defended the initiative of the JBP:

“The Muraglione beach is a carryover beach: it was recently formed with residual sand brought back by the currents, and I don't know there are dunes, but simple accumulations. It is not a protected oasis, but a bathing area, therefore subjected to a strong human impact every day. Just take a look around this time to understand. If it is called the Viareggio beach there will be a reason. "

Il Jova Beach Party, the organization of which, moreover, the WWF also collaborates, therefore it will be done ... even if with some controversy too many.
