The Gran Caffè La Caffettiera in Naples presents the Cuccuma Week, a week of coffee events!

From 3 to 8 April 2017 at the Gran Caffè La Caffettiera in Piazza dei Martiri in Naples the "Cuccuma Week". It is a series of events whose main theme is coffee, its origins, its use in the kitchen or in the preparation of drinks, its ability to unite friends, people you love, or even to make people know new.

A week dedicated to cuccuma, the historic tin or tin coffee pot invented in 1819 by the Parisian Morize and used in Italy until it was replaced by the moka espresso in the XNUMXs. At the Gran Caffè La Caffettiera, the Neapolitan entrepreneur Guglielmo Campajola has cultivated his passion for coffee over the years, preparing it with care, devotion and respect for tradition, so he decided to dedicate six days to the cuccuma.

You can thus attend the coffee preparation ritual, as our grandparents used to prepare it and breathe that unique scent that often brings to mind memories of our childhood and finally delight you with that more intense flavor than the espresso prepared with the moka. The Cuccuma Week program includes various events that will take place in the afternoon, starting at 17:30 pm, without the need for a reservation. Let's see the calendar in detail.

Monday April 3

"Coffee and sport"

Un moment of meeting after the Napoli-Juventus match both in case of victory or defeat. To discuss football will be: Rino Cesarano (journalist, television commentator), Vincenzo Imperatore (writer and financial consultant), Carmen Gallo (poet and writer), Carlo Franco (Republic), Marianna Garofalo (screenwriter), Massimiliano Gallo (Il Napolista) , Gianluca Gifuni (Radio Marte), Gianni Montieri (writer and poet), Oscar Nicolaus (psychologist, co-founder of Te Diegum) and the great Faustinho Jarbas Canè. In the afternoon the Caffè della Buona Corta will be presented, the Canè coffee designed by La Caffettiera in honor of the champion and Scaramfè, the brand co-signed Scaramanzia Napoli.

Tuesday April 4

"Discovering coffee roasting"

Guests will be accompanied by Gregory Calabretta, Carmine Capitanio, Kimbo Trainer Manager and Kimbo Coffee Specialist for deepen the secrets of the world of Kimbo coffee and taste some blends including Limited Edition, Top selection, Bio Organic, 100% Arabica and Deca. During the afternoon, the "Approach to coffee" program scheduled for May will be presented, designed to bring consumers and future customers closer to the knowledge of coffee.

Wednesday April 5

"Literary journey into the world of coffee"

Presentation of the book "The mystery of the cuccuma" written by Giovanni Calvino and published by the publisher Serena Altieri who will be present at the event. A short yellow story, set inside the Gran Caffè La Caffettiera, on the disappearance of a cuccuma belonging to the owners of the restaurant and to various characters to whom a mini-series of six books will be dedicated, also translated into English and distributed together with the tourist magazine Where Naples Coast & Islands.

Thursday April 6th

"Dessert and coffee"

The coffee has a great use in the preparation of desserts. Exclusively for the Gran Caffè La Caffettiera you can enjoy the chocolate-shaped Neapolitan coffee maker with a covering of dark chocolate and a heart of chocolate ganache and coffee, the coffee baba, the coffee biscuits cooked in the firewood oven of the Forno Guarino di Mirabella Eclano. The four meals will be presented to the public signed by Anna Chiavazzo, pastry master of The Garden of Geneva: the 'Land of wine and heart', based on wheat cooked in Casavecchia, the 'Malorca', based on apples annurche, the classic and the coffee pastiera, conceived for the event, the anise coffee prepared in the cuccuma will also be offered.

Friday April 7th

"Salty and coffee"

A trip discovering the use of coffee in the kitchen. For the occasion, the Kimbo coffee pasta will be presented, in which the coffee added to the traditional mixture of water and durum wheat semolina will add to the product a set of antioxidants and bioactive compounds. There will be: Mario Rubino administrator of Kimbo and Alberto Ritieni full professor of food chemistry at the Federico II University of Naples. Guests will be made to taste the freshly cooked coffee pasta.

Saturday April 8th

“Coffee between cocktails and brunch. Coffee in the use of the bar tender ".

From the Hendrick's ccino, specialty of the Gran Caffè La Caffettiera, prepared with Hendrick's anise syrup, cinnamon and coffee velvet. Marco Parrella will present five coffee cocktails designed with Kimbo mixtures and perform a demonstration in place. The new brunch proposals will also be presented with the possibility of tasting some dishes.
