Cuccuma Week has started in Naples, the week dedicated to Neapolitan coffee, the one prepared to perfection!
"Ah, what a beautiful cafe, sulo a Napule 'or they know fa' and nisciuno if he explains pecché it is a real specialty!" so says the text of "O 'cafè", a famous song by Modugno, dedicated to one of the undisputed masterpieces of Naples, the coffee.
And to pay homage to the renowned Neapolitan drink, the 24 November 2014 has begun "Cuccuma Week: the coffee week", the first made in Naples exhibition, entirely devoted to coffee, its history and its preparation, considered a real art.
The protagonist of the event is the Cuccuma, the ancient Neapolitan coffee maker, celebrated at "Gran Caffè La Caffettiera - Kimbo Coffee Embassy" Piazza dei Martiri, in the heart of the city, where visitors have the opportunity to taste the real Neapolitan coffee, the old-fashioned, the perfect way, the one prepared with the Cuccuma in fact.
With the collaboration of the publishing and communication company By Tourist, the initiative aims to disseminate the passion for traditional coffee through a rich program of music, cinema, vintage advertising prints, happy hour, theater and cultural performances.
Cuccuma week will end the 30 November 2014 with the final event that invites all citizens, owners of an old coffee maker, to show off their jug in the halls of the Gran Caffè in Piazza dei Martiri. A jury of journalists will judge the best-preserved Cuccuma by giving the winner an honorable prize.

Monday 24 November
18.00 Hours: inauguration of the exhibition of historical advertising prints on the theme of coffee accompanied by coffee dessert tasting and display of Gran Caffè la Caffettiera souvenirs, with Neapolitan Cuccuma, Cornicello and porcelain cups.
Tuesday November 25
18.00 Hours: Akinari "Pasquale" Makishima, the Pizzaiolo world champion arriving from Japan to purchase 1500 Cuccume, and the official delivery to the Gran Caffè La Caffettiera - Embassy of Caffè Kimbo.
Wednesday November 26
18.00 pm: tasting of coffee cakes with didactic part: how do you use the Cuccuma? The difference with Moka and Cialde? Word to the expert! From aroma to flavor.
Thursday 27 November
18.00 Hours: literary café, with reading and commentary of pieces chosen among renowned works that recall coffee, in Piazza dei Martiri. By the journalist Santa Di Salvo of Il Mattino.
Friday November 28
18.00 Hours: private show of renowned Neapolitan theater artist. The show will be at the Gran Caffè La Caffettiere and only by reservation, subject to availability of seats. The show will be accompanied by coffee cocktail tasting and themed desserts.
Saturday November 29
18 hours: 00: aperitif with oysters and champagne for just € 10,00. And for those who decide to stay for dinner, you can taste the menu based on coffee, from appetizers to desserts, by Gran Caffè La Caffettiera.
Sunday November 30
11.00 Hours: bring your Cuccuma on display, a jury of journalists will evaluate it. The best kept cuccos will be awarded with the Souvenir Gran Caffè La Caffettiera
