The Bread and Rural Civilization Festival of Trentinara (SA)

From 31 July to 4 August 2024, Trentinara becomes the stage for the 18th Edition of the Bread and Rural Civilization Festival, an event that celebrates culinary traditions and local craftsmanship. Located in the evocative setting of the municipality of Trentinara, this festival is a tribute to the art of bread-making and the peasant techniques handed down from generation to generation, offering visitors a dive into the cultural and gastronomic roots of the region.

What do you eat at the festival

The streets of Trentinara come alive with nine food and wine stations, each dedicated to different aspects of traditional cuisine, with particular attention to the production of bread and dishes based on local cereals. Guests can enjoy a variety of delicacies, come on cavatielli larded with beans to delicious preparations of Eggplant Parmesan serve in o' cuzzetiello. Additionally, a dedicated station offers options gluten-free, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the culinary delights on offer.

Program

The events calendar is full of events that celebrate both local cuisine and culture:

• 31th July: Performance by Fiorenza Calogero and Anima Folk, with Biagio De Prisco.
• August 1th: Evening with Gerardo Amarante and Spaccapaese Projoco.
• August 2th: Fortunato & Valentina present the Tarantella Project.
• August 3th: Rittantico takes the stage to delight the audience.
• August 4th: The festival ends with performances by Kalascima and Kiepo.

Shows and other activities

In addition to flavours, the festival is permeated with music and folklore with street artists, typical peasant dances and songs which take place both as itinerants through the historic alleys and as concerts organized in the central Piazza dei Martiri e degli Eroi. The iconic Lovers' Terrace offers the ideal context to admire the sunset, while the notes of the live performances act as the soundtrack to a genuine and engaging party atmosphere.
