The historic Faito cableway reopens to the public and will reach Castellammare!

The historic Faito cableway, disused by 2012 due to lack of funds, 4 May 2016 will reopen to the public.

The cable car was built in 1952 e connects in a few minutes Castellammare di Stabia with Mount Faito, at a height of about 1.100 meters, offering passengers a unique view of the Gulf of Naples, which looks like a postcard view from up there. It will be able to transport 35 Guests and the route will be traveled in 8 minutes.

The reactivation of the plant involves continuous maintenance work, the safety of the cabins and the electrical equipment, the restoration of the fencing of the areas adjacent to the building of the Taverna del Leone and of the former farm and of the former Comof area. Subsequently, thepicnic area former Baita, which can be exploited for a picnic.

La environmental requalification will cover the whole area of ​​Mount Faito, with a land reclamation, the reopening of some roads interrupted and the securing of landslide risk, due to hydrological instability.
The goal is the revitalization of the territory and tourist valorization of the area, which enjoys a privileged position between the Sorrento peninsula and the Amalfi coast, tourist destinations of natural and scenic beauty, which can be reached more easily.

It will be open until August 24.
