Three cycles, three forms of the Elsewhere
The exhibition explores Elsewhere in three dimensions: metaphysical , imaginary , and cultural . Each journey transcends a boundary, represented by Leopardi's hedge, Don Quixote's illusion, and the confusion of languages at Babel.
The Infinito cycle is inspired by Giacomo Leopardi's poem of the same name and was exhibited in September 2025 at the Maschio Angioino in Naples. El ingenioso Don Quixote brings together paintings, sculptures, and drawings related to Cervantes's masterpiece, previously presented at the Giorgio and Amanda Marchesani Foundation in Venice as part of the Biennale Arte circuit.
The third cycle, Beyond Babel , is inspired by the biblical myth of the Tower of Babel and its linguistic contamination. The project will continue at the National Pavilion of the United Republic of Tanzania at the Venice Art Biennale and then at the Guangzhou Museum of Art in China.
A bridge between Naples, Venice and China
Gallery owner Daniela Diodato brings to Salerno exhibitions previously hosted at internationally renowned venues. The gallery is currently working on a project uniting China and Italy within the Venice Art Biennale program.
The aim is to highlight the value of painting and the figure of Ciro Palumbo , an artist who turned painting into an act of resistance. The exhibition combines painting, music, theater, and audiovisual techniques.
Who is Ciro Palumbo?
Painter and sculptor Ciro Palumbo , born in 1965, is of Swiss origin but lives and works in Turin. In his works, he removes objects from their everyday function and transforms them into visual metaphors.
His most recent research is dedicated precisely to the idea of Elsewhere : a place that arises from a border and that can only be reached by crossing it.
