Naples, Metro Line 1 suspended from 11:20. Stop on the entire route

Naples, 2 July 2025 – New inconveniences for Neapolitan commuters and citizens: from 11:20 of today, Metro Line 1 has been suspended along the entire route. The news was communicated through the official channels of ANM, with a note also released via Facebook. At the moment, The causes of the interruption have not been disclosed nor are there any specific timeframes for restoring the service.

The suspension affected the whole line, Piscinola to Garibaldi, interrupting one of the most strategic connections for urban mobility. The announcement took many users by surprise, especially on a Saturday when the metro is often used for tourist and work trips and for summer events in the city.

No replacement routes have been activated at the moment, nor have alternative time slots been communicated. Travellers are therefore invited to monitor updates through official website ANM and company social channels, also active for requests and information.

The ANM message does not specify the reason for the interruption, fueling uncertainty among users and on the alternative means available. This is a further criticality in a summer marked by various works on the metro network, such as the closure of some stations on Line 1 itself for scheduled maintenance.

Pending further official communications, the invitation is to plan alternative routes, also considering other urban public transport lines and buses.
