What is the book about?

“The Last Canarian Summer” It is an intense and touching novel, published by Editorial Workshops from Cleto in October 2024. Through the lives of Adriana e Giannina, two long-time friends, the author explores three main narrative threads:

  • Women's emancipation: The protagonists, women from the South, face the challenges of an often hostile social context, fighting to assert their rights and realize their dreams.
  • Respect and valorization of the territory: Calabria, with its natural beauty and its contradictions, becomes the silent protagonist of the novel, celebrated and denounced at the same time.
  • End of life: A delicate and complex theme, treated with sensitivity to stimulate reflection on the right to choose how to live and die.
