Until Sunday 12 June 2022 will be held on May of the Monuments 2022 with many events scheduled in Naples.
For the occasion, in fact, the Monumental Complex of Castel Nuovo, or the Maschio Angioino, will be open on an exceptional basis to the public on both Thursday June 2, 2022 that Sunday, and will be open from 08:30 to 14:00.
Therefore, the novelty concerns theexceptional opening on Sundays, because during the week the Castle can be visited for some time.
The free visit to Castel Nuovo
On the occasion of the May of Monuments 2022, citizens and tourists will have the opportunity to visit the Maschio Angioino for free and without the need for a reservation, except for the Galleries of the Civic Museum.
It will therefore be possible to admire all the spaces open to the public such as the Monumental Courtyard, Hall of the Barons, archaeological route former Armory Room e the hall of the Loggia overlooking the arsenals of Castel Nuovo.
Then again you can admire the wonderful Triumphal Arch of Alfonso the Magnificent, located after the drawbridge and which is the entrance to the Castle. This structure was built in 1468 to celebrate the triumphal entry of Alfonso of Aragon into Naples.
Visits to the Castle on weekdays
Obviously the Castle will also be open from Monday to Saturday from 08:30 to 17:00 and it will be possible to access only through the reservation to be made online on the official site.
On Sunday, however, the Castle will be closed to the public, except on the occasion of the May of the monuments.
