From The 9 27 April 2025 il Diana Theater of Naples home Massimiliano Gallo with “Melancholic – Moderately Happy”, show based on the novels by Diego DeSilva and written by the author himself together with the main actor. An intimate and brilliant theatrical project that gives voice and body back to the character of Vincenzo Melinconico, the unconventional lawyer who first won over readers, then television audiences.

Who is Vincenzo Malinconico?

Malinconico is a lawyer who defines himself “unsuccessful”, but above all he is a man balanced between existential doubts and daily attempts to stay afloat. With his ironic and disillusioned tone, he becomes the perfect narrator to tell emotional, social and work precariousness of those who live seeking a balance between ambition and fragility.

On stage, Massimiliano Gallo plays the role of Malinconico with a direct and confidential monologue, built on three fundamental axes: profession, feelings and family. Through reflections and anecdotes, the character lightly dismantles the contradictions of modern life.

A stage for the inner story

The monologue turns into a continuous dialogue with the public, between smiles and questions that touch on universal themes. To enrich the staging, five actors present in video projection, representing friends, loves and key figures in his ramshackle and irresistibly human world.

A show where literature and theatre meet, and where the audience finds themselves through a character who is entertaining precisely because he is so imperfect, so true.
