The arrival of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella in Naples, scheduled for Thursday 27 November on the occasion of the inauguration of the academic year of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy and of his stay in Villa Rosebery, involves a series of parking restrictions and temporary changes to traffic flow. The Municipality has established a plan of restrictions aimed at ensuring institutional safety, with bans implemented over several days and in several strategic areas of the city. The measures will remain in effect until no longer necessary.

What restrictions are in place on Via Ferdinando Russo?

Via Ferdinando Russo is one of the areas most affected by the restrictions. Before listing the restrictions, it's worth noting that this area is adjacent to Villa Rosebery, often subject to traffic changes during presidential visits. The goal is to ensure an adequate security perimeter, minimizing the presence of vehicles and the possibility of unauthorized parking.

The established interventions include:

  • No parking and no stopping with forced removal.
  • Suspension of all types of authorized parking.
  • Prohibited areas on both sides of the road.
  • Validity of the provision: from 20:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26th until Sunday, November 30th.

What's changing on Corso Meridionale and what timetables to follow

Corso Meridionale, a strategic area for mobility near the station, will be subject to significant restrictions. Before reporting the time slots, it's worth noting that the area adjacent to the Polfer entrance is considered sensitive from a logistical standpoint, especially when institutional representatives are present. The ban applies to both parking spaces and reserved areas.

The measures envisaged are:

  • Suspension of paid parking areas.
  • No parking and stopping with forced removal.
  • Affected section: station side, from Corso Novara to number 7.
  • Opening hours:
    • From 0:01 AM on Thursday, November 27th until no longer needed.
    • From 0:01 AM on Sunday, November 30th until no longer needed.

Which roads in the hospital area and Capodimonte are affected?

The restrictions also affect key areas such as Capodimonte and the Colli Aminei. Before listing the affected areas, it's worth considering that the area represents an important connection to the presidential residence and includes heavily traveled roads. The complete parking ban is intended to keep traffic clear at all times, ensuring access for security vehicles.

The affected roads are:

  • Santa Maria delle Grazie Alley in Capodimonte, both sides.
  • Via Lucio Amelio / Via Miano, from the section with Viale Colli Aminei up to Via Bosco di Capodimonte.
  • Viale Colli Aminei, from the intersection with Via Miano to the entrance of the Traumatology Hospital.
  • Validity: from 0:00 on November 27 until no longer needed.

Taxi area on Corso Meridionale

The safety plan also includes changes to taxi areas. Before providing details, it's worth noting that moving or closing these stalls could impact the mobility of passengers and station staff. The restriction is temporary but significant.

The provision establishes:

  • Suspension of the taxi area in Corso Meridionale (Polfer crossing side).
  • Clockwise: from 8:00 am on Thursday 27 November until no longer needed.
