May of Monuments in Naples: Migrantour visits with the eyes of foreigners

With the Migrantour we will go to the discovery of the places and traditions of the many foreign communities that live in Naples!

In the context of May of Monuments and its rich program are also provided three interesting guided tours, in three consecutive weekends, made by citizens of foreign origin who live in Naples.

These are tours organized by Migrantour Naples and promoted by Casba Società Cooperativa Sociale for on 8, 15 and 22 May 2021 with these unpublished guides that will lead us to places in our city that recall their origins. In this way, we will find out the similarities between our places and their places of origin, with a view to comparison and mutual enrichment.

The three visits will be nothing more than urban paths between alleys and streets through memories, tales, aromas, flavors and memories of one's own experience with references to every corner of the world.
Let's discover together these events of our multicultural Naples.

Guided tours conducted by foreign citizens

May 8 - Next stop Piazza Cavour
10.30 am - meeting: Porta San Gennaro

The main stops on this walk are there Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, the Church of Santa Maria dei Vergini, the Palazzo dello Spagnuolo, food of Eastern Europe and of Indian take away. A tour through the religious, cultural and gastronomic traditions of the Sinhalese and Ukrainian communities of Naples.

May 15 - All worlds at the station
10.30 am - meeting: Piazza Garibaldi, under the monument

It will be a tour among the gastronomic places and not only of some foreign communities: the first supermarket of reference, the first halal butcher shop of Naples, theMaghrebian handicrafts, the bakeries and food shops of Algeria, i African hairdressers, the Senegalese market in via Bologna, the mosque in via Firenze. The intercultural guides will accompany us in the most multicultural district of Naples.

May 22 - In the belly of Naples
hours: 10.30 - meeting: Piazza Mercato

Piazza Mercato is another place where citizens of different nationalities live together and we will visit the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, with the Madonna Bruna, the Mosque founded in 1997 in a former convent, the “'ncopp e' mura” market and the various food and shops in the area.
