Mazzocchi nears a Napoli departure: Venezia is in pole position, a three-way race for the full-back.

The full-back did not leave for Como

Pasquale Mazzocchi has not been called up for Napoli-Como , today's Serie A match at the Maradona. The right-back, who has been on the market for some time, now appears to be nearing the end of his career in the Azzurri shirt.

Venice in pole position, three-way race

According to Sky Sport and Gianluca Di Marzio , Venezia are in pole position for the former Salernitana player. The Orange-Red-Greens have already reached a verbal agreement with Juan Jesus and are now trying to secure another defensive signing.

Genoa and Parma are also interested in the player . However, the Ligurians would only make a move if Norton-Cuffy leaves , followed by Strasbourg and Besiktas.

Allegri's third choice

With Di Lorenzo and Favasuli ahead of him in the role, Mazzocchi is Massimiliano Allegri 's third choice for the right flank. He can adapt to the left, but even there, competition from Spinazzola and Olivera leaves him with limited space.

The summer transfer market closes on September 1st : the sale of the full-back could also unlock another arrival in the squad.
